<워밍 허밍 Warming Humming>은 인천아트플랫폼 내의 전시공간, 외부정원 등 내외부의 장소로 연결하는 감각공간을 구성하여, '온도', '소리', '시간'라는 감각과 요소들을 미적방식으로 구성한 땅의 이야기를 들려준다. 이 작업은 산업화 사회로 이행되며 간척과 매립을 통해 생겨난 새로운 영토의 레이어 등의 주관적 관찰과 서사의 중층적 단서들을 중심으로 서사되는 나레이터의 음성을 들으며 관람하게 한다.
이 작업은 각기 다른 계절과 시간을 살아가는 동물, 곤충, 식물 등 언어가 없는 존재들의 서식처, 계절을 거스르며 개화한 꽃과 열매, 인간 세계 이면의 동물, 식물, 혹은 박테리아, 미생물 등이 함께 살아가는 미시 생태계와 소리적 상상이 머무는 무대로 정원과 전시공간을 구성한다. 이 작업은 혼재된 빛의 교란과 산발적으로 분열되는 그림자, 장면, 그리고 가상의 이야기 구성을 통해 관객이 거닐고 경험하는 공간에 함께 도사리고 번식하고 있는 생명체들의 도피처, 정원에서 벗어나 산업에 의해 발생한 모호한 장소, 허구로 가득한 긴장된 공간으로 관객을 이끈다.
<Warming Humming> constructs a sensory environment that connects interior and exterior sites within Incheon Art Platform—including exhibition spaces and the outdoor garden—telling a story of the land through an aesthetic composition of temperature, sound, and time. The work is experienced while listening to a narrator’s voice, which unfolds through layered narrative cues and subjective observations, such as the emergence of new territorial layers formed through land reclamation and infill during the transition to an industrialized society.
The garden and exhibition space are configured as stages for habitats of non-linguistic beings—animals, insects, and plants living across different seasons and temporalities—alongside flowers and fruits that bloom against the seasons, and micro-ecologies in which animals, plants, bacteria, and microorganisms coexist beneath the surface of the human world, as well as spaces where sonic imagination lingers. Through disturbances of mixed light, scattered and fragmented shadows, scenes, and fictional narrative constructions, the work guides the audience into spaces they walk through and experience: refuges where life forms lurk and proliferate, ambiguous sites produced by industry beyond the garden, and tense spaces saturated with fiction.
