2025 이수진 개인전  《폴리포니 클럽: 몬더그린 확장본》은 2021년 이후부터 최근까지 작가가 연구하고 있는 '우연과 예측불허의 불협화음'의 연장선상에서, 실재와 가상의 경계에서 일어나는 미시적 생명세계의 진화를 탐구한다. 이번 전시는 지난 2024년 한국문화예술위원회-극지연구소 협력으로 참여한 작가의 북극해 탐사과정의 경험을 통해 생겨난 여러 질문들을 중심으로 현대과학의 생명현상을 바라보는 작가적 관점에서 그동안 인류가 구축해온 연결, 접속, 커뮤니케이션 등 다채로운 상호작용을 이야기하였다. 작품은 물질과 비물질 세계, 경계와 계급이 없는 아슬아슬한 무형의 레이어들, 정보, 사물, 이야기들이 끊임없이 넘쳐 흘러가는 동시대 일련의 사변적이고 우연한 사건들 속에 자리한다. 작품 속 소리는 몬더그린 효과와 같은 착청과 착시, 그리고 청각적 환상처럼 요동하고 발화하는 물질적 세계를 구현한다. 


Jade Sujin Lee’s solo exhibition Polyphony Club: Mondegreen Expanded Edition extends the artist’s ongoing research since 2021 into “dissonance of chance and unpredictability.” At the boundary between the real and the virtual, the exhibition explores the evolution and transformation of microscopic life-worlds. Developed from questions that arose during LEE’s participation in an Arctic Ocean expedition in 2024, the exhibition unfolds the artist’s perspective on contemporary scientific conceptions of life phenomena, while reimagining the networks of connection, contact, and communication that humanity has constructed over time.

The exhibition works are situated within a series of speculative and contingent events of our time, where the material and immaterial worlds, precarious intangible layers without boundaries or hierarchies, and flows of information, objects, and narratives ceaselessly overflow and entangle. The sounds of the media works embody a world that trembles and speaks—a vibrating field where mishearing, illusion, and auditory hallucination ripple through matter—as in the so-called “mondegreen effect.”
