Set in a space by combining installation, moving image, sound, performance, and narration, Howling Express over Hypersea(2022) examines "how surrealistic imagination can be accessed by the audience." Each spatial element, such as the round room, curved wall, or circular staircase, becomes the setting for a situation in which the collapse of borders and transition of futuristic time take place by light, sound, time and the moon. This invokes a Sci-fi story of a new land where resonance and vibration, fluidity and materiality blur their boundaries and the viewers are invited to imagine these distinct turning points that windows to various possibilities.

<하울링 익스프레스 오버 하이퍼씨 Howling Express over Hypersea>는 ‘과거-현재-미래의 시간성 사이에 흐르는 동시대 유동하는 개념들’을 경유하는 초월적인 서식지를 3채널 영상으로 구현하고 있다. 이 작업은 “초현실적 상상과 관객이 어떠한 연결로 접속할 수 있는지?”를 탐구하며, 원시적이거나 미래적인 감각이 혼재된 신비적 장소에 대한 중층적 서사를 중심으로 모든 미시적 객체들이 정치적 주체가 되는 비문의 우주론을 펼쳐낸다.

영상 작업 속에 등장하는 원형 홀, 둥근 벽체, 원형계단 등의 장소들은 ‘빛, 소리, 시간, 그리고 달’이 만들어내는 ‘경계의 해체’와 ‘미래적 시간의 전환’이 일어나는 상황의 무대가 된다. 이는 울림과 진동, 흐름과 물성 등이 넘나드는 새로운 영토의 SF적 이야기를 구현하여 다양한 가능성들이 내재한 변곡점들을 상상하게 한다.
